EMBRN Council statement

November 7th was a national day of mourning in Israel as it came a month after the horrific massacre of 1,400 Israelis, including babies, children, young and old people. In addition, 240 Israeli civilians and soldiers were taken hostage and their status has been uncertain ever since.
All of this has led to a full-blown unwanted war that has brought suffering and death to both sides.
This situation also affects science, as many students were drafted into the army.

The very nature of our profession calls on us to pursue truth and veracity, guided by shared values and morality.
